Once all the seperarte pieces are printed I connected them all with dowles and started sanding to remove the layer lines to the best of my ability. Since this blade was long and thin, I was unable to find a dowl that fit prefectly, and instead opted to use multiple thunner dowles to get a stirdy hold.
At this stage I also use wood filler to fill in all the gaps between the parts and fill layer lines I couldn’t sand away. Filler spray paint is also used to get the smaller gaps. Since there went many hard to reach sections on this model, sanding didn't take long and I was able to get a mostly smooth finish across the entire blade.
Due to this blade having a gradiant in the design there was a fair bit of trial and error in order to get it correct. Thankfully the rest of the blade was black with small sections of blue which were very simple to paint.
